Vision TOP

The vision of National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow is to be the leading collegiate
organization in developing and strengthening agricultural communications students through
professional growth opportunities and educational programs.

Purpose TOP

The purposes of ACT are to:

  • Stimulate interest in and promote agricultural communications careers.
  • Provide leadership experience to members and keep them abreast of developments in
    the agricultural communications field.
  • Invigorate campus-level programs of study by promoting the exchange of ideas and
    information among agricultural communications students and faculty.
  • Recognize and encourage professional excellence and growth in agricultural
    communications.
  • Improve courses and programs related to agricultural communications by stimulating
    interaction among students, faculty members, and professionals.
  • Provide an organizational structure that is as broad as the career interests and goals of
    agricultural communications students, so that ACT can serve all students and relate to
    all professional groups within the career field.

Mission TOP

The Mission of National ACT is to build relationships among agricultural communications
professionals and college students and faculty, to provide professional and academic
development for members and to promote agriculture through communications efforts.

History TOP

The National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow was established in 1970. Today more
than 20 active chapters represent universities across the country. Supporting organizations
include:

  • American Agricultural Editors Association
  • Agricultural Communicators in Education
  • Agricultural Relations Council
  • Cooperative Communicators Association
  • Livestock Publications Council
  • National Association of Farm Broadcasters
  • North American Agricultural Journalists
